Learn-To-Lift Program
If it’s been a while, or you are coming to us with zero experience out learn-to-lift program is your first step. We start off beginners with (5) one-hour sessions. We take an individualized approach to teaching the Snatch and Clean & Jerk.
Check out our curriculum below to understand the process. During Learn-To-Lift, we evaluate your weaknesses and strengths to determine the best approach for our coaches to tailor the our program around you.

Each day is individualized to where you are when you start, and how fast you pick it up. Although the direction is the same, get you to snatch and clean & jerk.
This consists of:
Breathing & Bracing
Positions of the Lifts (Receiving, Power, Above Knee, Below Knee, Starting)
Phases of the Lifts (First Pull, Second Pull, Third Pull, Recovery, Jerk Dip, Jerk Drive, Jerk Receiving, Recovery)
Rhythm and Timing of the Lifts
Accessory Movements of the Lifts (Squats, Pulls, Technical Lifts)
How to Bail/Miss Safely

Level 1 - Technique & Strength Foundation (Weeks 1-4)
Build a strong technique foundation and master fundamental strength movements. Benefit from group coaching sessions and access TrainHeroic for online guidance
Level 2 - Skill Refinement (Weeks 5-8)
Advance with varied techniques, emphasizing precision, timing, and speed. Hone complex movements for smoother, explosive lifts. Progress steadily for greater challenges.
Level 3 - Mastery & Prep (Weeks 9-12)
Optimize strength and power, finding your maxes. Simulate competition conditions with dynamic training. Mentally and physically prepare for competitions under coach guidance. Transition seamlessly to regular programs.

Club Coaching
For those experience looking to lift recreationally while still making significant improvements, our Club Coaching program is the perfect fit. This program utilizes the same base routines employed by Method Barbell, structured around four key competitions each year: Sr. Provincials, Method Summer Classic, Valhalla Open, and Method Winter Classic.

Possibly. While Olympic weightlifting may appear straightforward, mastering it requires countless reps over time with precise technique. Our expert coaches play a crucial role in this journey, continuously observing and refining your form to ensure optimal performance. They meticulously correct and sometimes reverse-engineer poor motor patterns, guiding you towards flawless execution and progressive improvement.

Although both sports utilize a barbell and the movements, Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit are fundamentally different and should not be confused. CrossFit athletes often require more focused coaching to address and correct inefficiencies developed from their diverse training. Our coaches provide the specialized attention needed to refine technique and enhance performance, ensuring each athlete reaches their full potential.

While you're not obligated to join or train with Method Barbell, many individuals choose to advance their skills through our group sessions. Alternatively, you can focus on technique and form by training one-on-one with your coach in private sessions, receiving personalized guidance tailored to your needs.

You can do both. We will need to adjust your programming to accommodate for the additional training volume.

Statistically Olympic Weightlifting has one of lowest injury rates compared to other gym activities or sports when preformed correctly. Every session is coached by an experienced expert, meaning we will never allow you to push beyond your physical capabilities. Safety is our priority.

No, it’s not required. Some athletes want to have better form, focus on fitness, and have some fun. With that said we do reccomend it as there are a large number of benefits (mentally, physically and emotionally) that come only through competing.
